 Course Learning Objectives • The varied channels through which transportation impacts both our society and the environment, alongside universally acknowledged objectives for a transportation system that is sustainable and equitable. • The interconnected relationship between transportation and equity, spanning accessibility, environmental justice, and social justice. Guest Speakers • Juandiego Wade, Mayor of Charlottesville, graduate from the MUEP at UVa, former transportation planner, former Charlottesville School Board member, and president of Virginia’s School Board Association. • Gregg Winston, experienced healthcare executive and co-chair of the Move2Health Equity Coalition.

Emphasis on minimizing social and environmental adverse impacts while maximizing co-benefits such as health. • Stay updated on the latest advancements in comprehending the intersectional dynamics of transportation, social justice, and environmental justice. Guest Speakers • Ben Chambers, Transportation Planning Manager for the City of Charlottesville, former transportation planner for consulting firms including Kimley-Horn and AECOM. • A new second guest speaker is currently being arranged following the sudden retirement of the former speaker Ted J. Rieck, the former CEO of Jaunt, Inc.
