 Public Speaking Workshop

 This highly-interactive, skill-building course is broken into 4 smaller workshops: Storytelling for Public Speaking, Improv for Public Speaking, Strengthening Presence, and Interview Techniques. The last evening of the 5-week course is reserved for final presentations and a full review of all skills. Students will receive in-class coaching each week to: build confidence, skills, and enjoyment in public speaking; to explore and apply vocal and physical techniques; to cultivate rehearsal and event preparation habits regarding scheduled and improvised/surprise public speaking situations; to cultivate and deepen the ability to work within an ensemble/team which includes the offering and receiving of effective feedback.

 National Security in the Age of New Tech

 This class will explore the critical implications that new technologies have had and will continue to have on the U.S. National Security. Topics discussed will include (1) the global semiconductor critical supply chain; (2) the national security implications arising from the development and installation of 5 & 6 Generation technology, (3) the threat from ransomware and the role of cryptocurrency, (4) encryption and the national security implications of “Going Dark,” among others.
