SIS Description: This course explores what it means not only to read or listen to but also to see testimony by Jewish survivors of the Holocaust. We will also view and analyze testimony by survivors of other genocides and atrocities. The purpose of this course is to enable students to develop the theoretical background and skills of close reading and close viewing necessary to analyze oral testimony.
